Does God still love me?
I must confess that some of our Christian brethren are in a state of confusion, as to whether God still loves them or not. But I encourage you by the mercies of God not to doubt God's love for you, not even for a second. God is immutable in his nature and his love for us is equally immutable, it is not subject to change, it endures forever. Therefore, no matter what we are going through in this life, let us make it a point not to have a double mindset concerning the love of God towards us. The reason why certain brethren at a point begin to question God's love for them varies.
Some doubt God's love for them because of an unanswered prayer request. Some also because of the death of their loved one(s), and others because of the trials and persecutions they are going through for Christ sake. Others also doubt God's love for them because of a certain sin they committed in the past. They feel God is still angry with them, and that God can never forgive them of their sins. So the reason why certain brethren in the faith, questions God's love for them, differs from each person
Don't Judge God's love for you based on your feelings
It behooves us as Christians, not to question God's love towards us based on our present circumstances. We err greatly the moment we begin to question God's love for us. If our prayers are still not answered or we are going through suffering for Jesus sake, or whether we stumble and fall into sin, God will never love us less. If your prayers are not yet answered, you need to be patient and persevere, for in due time your request will be answered. But there are certain requests, God will not grant them, because he knows we don't need it, and will give us something better. Therefore, let us not doubt God's love for us because of an unanswered prayer request. Also, trials and persecutions for the sake of the gospel is inevitable. As a result, let us not question God's love because of the suffering we go through for the sake of Christ, but to count it all joy to be counted worthy to suffer for his name sake.
Or maybe you have committed a sin in the past and you are still living in guilt. God still loves you, irrespective of the sin you may have committed against him. That sin itself has been forgiven, for it is written: In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace (Ephesians 1: 7). All your sins are already forgiven, including the sin you committed in time past. Beloved in Christ, there are times you can feel the love of God all over around you, and there are other times you will not feel anything. But the fact that you don't feel his love does not mean he no longer loves you. Don't question God's love for you based on the way you feel.
The highest manifestation of God's love
The vicarious death of Jesus Christ was the supreme manifestation of the love of God towards you and I. In our unregenerate state, we had no hope and were dead in sins and trespasses, but God in his grace sent forth his only begotten Son, who emptied himself of his glory as God, and took upon him the likeness of sinful flesh, and he humbled himself further by laying down his life for us. The bible says: For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:6-8).
Jesus Christ died to save us and the benefits of his redemptive work have all been imputed into our account. We are partakers of all the blessings of his salvific work, which he accomplished in our room two thousand years ago. The day you begin to feel like questioning God's love for you, then behold the cross of calvary. The cross of calvary upon which our blessed Lord was crucified is a symbol of God's eternal love for you. No matter the vicissitudes of life, rest assure that there is nothing that can sever God's love for you. You are forever loved by God, and the death of Jesus Christ is the undoubted proof.
Walk with the consciousness of God's love for you
I beseech you to continually feed your soul with passages that speaks of God's love for you. The bible is full of verses that tells you how much you are loved by your father in heaven. As you meditate more on God's word which speaks of his love for you, you will begin to have an unwavering assurance of the love of God towards you, no matter what you might be going through. Don't suffer anyone to tell you that God does not love you, or that he is angry with you, for such words do not proceed from the Spirit of God. From henceforth, stand firm in God's love, and never doubt his love for you, for is it not written: Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Just as it is written, "For Your sake we are being put to death all day long; We were considered as sheep to be slaughtered." But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8: 35-39).
